Pasta Bolognese

Seriously Budget Friendly -- (Serves 6+ for under $15!)
Pasta Bolognese
What You Need:
1 lb Penne Pasta (Gluten Free Pasta Works Perfectly as Well!)
26 oz Canned Pureed Tomatoes
4 Dried Bay Leaves
4 Cloves Minced Fresh Garlic or 1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tbsp Parsley Flakes*
1 tbsp Dried Sweet Basil*
½ tsp Salt (try lo-sodium salt if sodium conscious)
½ tsp Ground Black Pepper
1 tsp Dried Oregano
2 lbs Ground Beef (or Vegetarian Soy Grounds)
½ cup Mozzarella Cheese
1 tsp Sugar
*Fresh Herbs can be used: use 3 tbsp chopped for each, and save a leaf for presentation!

In a large sauce pan, brown beef and drain grease (if using soy grounds, skip to next step). Add all of the spices and the tomato sauce to pan with beef (or add to soy grounds), and reduce to a simmer.

Let sauce simmer for a minimum of 30 minutes, then remove bay leaves.
In a large pot, add 1 tbsp of salt to water and boil pasta until al-dente (soft but not completely tender).

Next, drain the pasta and place back into the large pot.  Pour the meaty and amazingly hearty sauce over pasta and toss, adding cheese on top to melt. I recommend a garnish of parsley over the melting cheese for a nice colorful touch.  This is a wonderful recipe to serve family style for a delicious meal everyone will love!

Another simple and cheap recipe for families to share!
